After years of hosting a romance comedy podcast, dabbling in writing and narrating erotica, and, of course, reading romance, I finally tried to write a romance novel.
BUT… I accidentally forgot about the romance part.
And the novel part, now that I think about it.
Anyway, allow me to present my latest project, Claimed by TBD, a fictional sci-fi comedy podcast written by and starring me.
Here’s the backstory: On an episode of Too Stupid to Live, I had a lovely interview with the fantastic Kate Spencer. We reviewed Devi’s Distraction, which is part of Ruby Dixon’s Icehome series. I made a comment that if I were a character in Ice Planet Barbarians, I would be the one that everyone complains about.
And that sparked the idea about what would happen if a middle-aged romance reader with no survival skills became stranded on a foreign planet, surrounded by handsome aliens who just don’t “get” her. I had too much fun thinking about this premise that’s pretty much “What if the Cathy comic was in space?”, and, in the end, I totally forgot about giving the main character a love interest.
However, with the support of my romance podcaster crew, I decided to go with it. I’d love your feedback as I release the first six chapters (plus a prologue) in the coming months.

But getting stranded on an uninhabited planet makes her fantasy scenario an absolute nightmare. With only her podcasting gear and zero survival skills, she documents her miserable experience even if no one will ever hear it.
